CONNECT HEART & HOME ///
I'm a great lover of quirky art and prints. I have ambitions to collect more statement art pieces from talented artists and create an original art feature wall (I might need a bigger house 😂,) But I also love to hang vintage-inspired art, prints and texture that I have collected over the years.
Ultimately, if it finds me, and I love it, and I have room for it. I'm having it. Filling my home with character, love and aesthetics that calm and inspire me is so important. I sincerely believe you are happier if you surround yourself with beautiful, sentimental things.
When I started writing this article, there were so many pieces that I wanted to tell you about that I became overwhelmed. It was just too many things to talk about in one article. So, I'm splitting it into two pieces.
Seven is my magic number, so for now, here are seven interesting pieces of beauty hanging in my home to lend a little inspiration to brighten your day. These pieces include all sorts of art adorning the walls of my quirky, eclectic home. Look out for another seven pieces of art in the next couple of weeks!

Vintage rooster fight
Vintage embroidery art made by my grandmother. I just love the vibrant and inspired colour choices that make up these fighting birds. What a rainbow of texture and movement, bringing these stunning creatures to life. A celebration of vintage craft, handmade and the joyous colours in nature. This big one sits proudly in my kitchen with my other farmhouse birds (a mini obsession for another day!)
2. Vintage food labels canvas

I found this beauty in a homeware bargain discount store in the UK. I love the careless gold shimmer added to the final layer of this canvas print. The careless sizing and wrap of this canvas mean some of the squares aren't fully visible, but I still love the overall effect, and to me, these imperfections add a quirky feeling. Combining French and British vintage kitchen labels in this serendipitous picture brings a timeless European charm to my kitchen.
3. Wicker mirrors and flying floral birds

These fun mirrors take centre stage above my very big black TV (I couldn't get a decent image with the TV, so I decided to leave it out, you'll have to use your imagination!) I bought them from a bohemian-inspired homeware store called Stitch & Straw. The bohemian rattan in these mirrors blends with the natural surroundings in my 'bushland paradise'. I added these three quirky handmade birds from an Aussie Etsy maker, Kotori Design. I was initially looking for vintage flying birds, like the old flying ducks. And then I came across these delicate floral beauties.

Beautiful and haunting, this portrait has so much depth, intrigue and mystery. The artist's use of a flower covering the eye gives a sense of reserved caution and fear. Claudia's work explores what she calls her "sole mission" to find ways to connect with the inner child.

This one is from a vintage french magazine cover. A little nudity never hurt anyone. But what a gorgeous, imaginative illustration. This one sits above my dressing table. It's a big piece. And I love its impact in my modest bedroom. I bought it as a special order vintage print online. I love the playful energy of the humanised butterfly and rose, portraying a tale of lust and desire, through the balance of nature and life.

Henry Clive is my absolute favourite vintage painter. He was an Australian-born American graphic artist and illustrator. He was born around 1882.
I just love how his talent captures glamorous, feminine beauty. Each of his paintings is truly like 1000 words. Each one telling a beautiful story. Even the pose in this particular piece is inspired and ethereal. The colours, composition, and detail are all perfect together.
Do you have any pieces similar to these? Do you get joy from displaying art on your walls?
